2015 Masi Agricola Amarone Della Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy (750ml)   

The Masi story began in 1772, when the Boscaini family acquired prestigious vineyards in the small valley called “Vaio dei Masi”, which is the origin of the company’s name. After more than 200 years of passionate winemaking the company is still in family hands, run by the sixth and seventh generations. 

With an emphasis on sustainable farming and production with the wines they produce, the family continues the tradition and practices of Valpolicella and Amarone that have been passed down over the years.  Using the classic appassimento technique of drying their grapes on bamboo racks, the aromatics and depth of the grapes are concentrated.  A blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, this is a wine with depth but nuance.  Deep ruby in color, the wine has dense baked fruit, plum, cherry, coffee and cocoa tones.  Enjoyable now or cellarable.  Vegan.
