Philippe Socheleau and his father Réne purchased Domaine Banchereau in St-Aubin-de-Luigné in 2001, selling off the cellars and building a new facility. Prior to this, Réne was a successful apple farmer.

The family currently farms 45ha of vines around St-Aubin-de-Luigné (Anjou), 3 ha in Savennieres (Clos du Petit Beaupreau and Les Fougerais) 12 ha in Rochefort-sur-Loire (Coteaux du Layon) and 3 ha in AOC Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume. Clos du Petit Beaupréau is a 1.6ha situated at 75 meters above sea level, the highest point in the Savennieres appellation located next to the ancient/historic Moulin (windmill) de Beaupreau.
