2018 Tatomer Paragon Gruner Veltliner, Edna Valley, California (750ml)
In 2008, Graham Tatomer founded Tatomer with two Riesling vineyards. the original intention was to make bone-dry Rieslings in California, to show comparison between the sweeter rieslings that were already famous here. He made a mere 400 cases in a small corner of a good friend's boutique winery. Since then, he's added more Riesling vineyards, as well as two Grüner Veltliner vineyards for a total production of 4,100 cases.
From the Producer: Paragon is a west facing, wind blown vineyard just south of San Luis Obispo in Edna Valley. Soils here consist of marl, quartz, and limestone. This wine shows some of the exotic tea and died herbal notes of Grüner Veltliner, all followed by wonderful tart apple, and peach flavors.
