Gallura is the best appellation for Vementino on the Italian island of Sadinia, and Surrau is one of a handful of standout producers
They make several Vementinos, and the Sciala bottling is produced from the best vineyard blocks they farm in the Surrau Valley at the north end of the island. It is given a brief period of skin contact before fermentation, which adds texture and complexity to the finished wine.
