Thierry Germain’s flagship cuvée—is a pure, juicy, and structured red with classic Cabernet Franc notes of blackberries and graphite. You’ll want to have this very pretty rouge on hand during every season of the year. Biodynamic since 2004.

Founded in 1850 by the Duveau family, Domaine des Roches Neuves was taken up by Thierry and Marie Germain in 1991. The vineyard is spread over 61 plots, covering 28 hectares with the Saumur Champigny appellation for its red wines. Domaine des Roches Neuves has become a benchmark producer from this tiny winemaking region, harvesting completely by hand in over 30 parcels, all of which are vinified separately. The difference in flavor, color, and complexity is enormous. By farming biodynamically Thierry can manage his vines which produce miniscule amounts of fruit. One can easily see the difference in the clusters as well as the leaves. Purple-to-ruby in color, this wine has aromas of black plum, dried-crushed violet, cedar, and forest floor. On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc is smooth in texture with a velvety finish and grippy, medium tannin. Careful choice of harvest time brings a wine that offers pleasant acidity and freshness.
