2020 Los Bermejos Listan Negro Carbonica, Lanzarote, Spain (750ml)

About the Icons
It turns out that carbonic maceration, a wine-making technique more typically associated with the Beaujolais region of France, can produce delicious results with Listan Negro from the ruggedly volcanic Canary Islands of Spain.

This funky little gem from the Canary Islands does not disappoint. Dark fruit in a cute suit - the bottle doubles as a fun reusable pitcher and this wine is just as versatile. Using carbonic maceration fermentation and the Listan Negro grape, the result has bright strawberry notes with refreshing acidity and other just-can't-put-my-finger-on-it aromas that make you stop, think, and ultimately just smile while you take another sip. A take on Beaujolais style for wine nerds and something off the beaten path for normal people.
