N.V. Bollinger Brut Special Cuvee, Champagne, France (375ml)

About the Icons
One of the most widely known and appreciated Champagnes in the world and always consistently delicious. Bollinger owns 164 hectares of vineyards in Grand and Premier Cru villages in the Vallée de la Marne, mostly planted to Pinot Noir with smaller quantities of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, but they are technically not an RM as they also buy in fruit from other growers.

Still, they manage to produce a very consistent product, thanks in part to the 600,000 magnum bottles of reserve wine they have at their disposal. The most widely distributed wine Bollinger produces is this Special Cuvée Brut which is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, 85% of which comes from their Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. They are also famous for their Tête de Cuvée, Grand Année vintage bottlings and their R.D. (Récémment Degorgé or Recently Disgorged) which can be spectacular and incredibly complex due to its extended maturation.
