Producer notes ~ his sustainably and organically farmed Alegría Vineyard Cabernet Franc’s aromatics read like a spice wish-list of cardamom, green peppercorns, star anise, and bergamot tea accented with blackberry and violets.

2018 Tessier Winery Cabernet Franc, Alegria Vineyard, Russian River Valley, California (750ml)
2018 The Wonderland Project Pinot Noir "Two Kings" Sonoma County, California (750ml)
Blended from two premium Pinot Noir sites on the Sonoma side of Carneros, native yeast fermentation with 15% whole cluster, minimal SO2, 15% new French oak for 6 months. 2,700 cases produced. A pretty, red-fruited wine with a touch of wild strawberry, rhubarb and dried sage.
2018 Toad Hollow Unoaked Chardonnay 'Francine's Vineyard' Mendocino County, California (750ml)
One of our "go-to" white wines for casual week-day meals or when you are expecting a crowd ~ not an option right now, we know . . .
2018 Turley 'Juvenile' Zinfandel, California (750ml)
From the winery: Though the vast majority of our wines are single vineyard designates, Juvenile is actually composed of a variety of young vines that have been replanted in several of our old vine sites.
2018 Unti Barbera, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, California (750ml)
Mick Unti's notes ~ Barbera is definitely one of our favorite varieties. Our 2018 comes from two clones of Barbera planted in 1998 and 2007 on our estate. Our selective approach in the vineyard combined with a great growing season resulted in a wine that resembles high-end Barbera from Asti. Cooler than normal weather in late August, early September resulted in enhanced aromas and fruit. This wine reminds me of our very successful 2015 vintage. Drink now and over the next 2 to 3 years.
2018 Valravn Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, California (750ml)
The foggy, cool vineyards in the Sonoma Coast produce gorgeous wines with beautiful high-toned red fruit flavors, while the Russian River component adds a richness and concentration in the form of black cherry, ripe strawberry, with hints of vanilla from top quality barrel aging. The wine is concentrated, but energetic with a linear mineral and acid streak providing backbone and freshness.
2018 Vincent Paris Cornas "Granit 60", Rhone Valley, France (750ml)
This syrah from Cornas in the Northern Rhone Valley comes from vines at a 60 degree gradient. The wine has all the seriousness of Cornas with a pleasant freshness. Vines are 60 to 100 years old and are biodynamically farmed.
2018 Wittman Riesling Trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany (750ml)
The Wittmann Estate Riesling Trocken is harvested by hand from estate-owned vineyards around the village of Westhofen. It is fermented with native yeasts and matured in large, neutral oak casks.
2018-C Baglio del Cristo di Campobello 'CDC' Rosso, Sicily (750ml)
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
This wine has a deep, dark red color, complex aromas and flavors of blackberry, rhubarb, cola and black olive, and spices. It has a voluptuous texture with persistent tannin and a hint of black tea on the finish.
2018-C Dean Hewitson Shiraz 'Le Secateur,' Barossa Valley, Australia (750ml)
A Red Cellar Trio Wine Club Selection
Dark purple hue with a garnet rim. Complex aromas of black fruit, espresso, pine tar, molasses, olives and peppercorn. The elegant palate shows both fresh and dried blackberries, olallieberry and marionberry and a hint of eucalyptus. A suberb demonstration that Barossa Shiraz can have genuine finesse.
2018-C Domaine Olivier Morin "Constance" Chitry Blanc, Bourgogne, France (750ml)
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
This wine has a beautiful pale golden hue with mustard flecks, and aromas of citrus pith, lemon and flint. With ripeness like that of the 2018 vintage, it is nicely textured with flavors of pineapple core, Meyer lemon, and under-ripe stone fruit, and expresses a clean, energetic finish.
2018-C Embankment Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley, Sonoma, California (750ml)
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
Deep plum colored robe with purple edges. The nose is powerful and fruit-driven—ripe blackberries, black cherry, currants and backing spice. A complex palate of lush blackberry, ripe blueberries, dark plum and chocolate. The texture is rich, accented by supple, round tannins and a long elegant finish.
2018-C Fattoria La Rivolta Coda di Volpe, Taburno Sannio DOP, Campania, Italy (750ml)
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
Coda di Volpe is an ancient white grape varietal about which Pliny the Elder speaks in his "Naturalis Historia". Grown primarily in Campania, it takes its name from the Italian meaning ‘tail of the fox’, because the grape bunches, when fully ripe, grow long and narrow at the bottom, resembling a bushy fox tail.
2018-C Lievland 'Bushvine' Pinotage, Paarl, South Africa (750ml)
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
This is a re-emergence of Pinotage in a modern, elegant style with a deep garnet robe. The nose shows dark cherry, savory herbs and a hint of smoked meat, but on the palate is lush black cherries, pomegranate, a touch of menthol, and a long finish. Try it slightly chilled!
2018-C Omen Red Blend, Sierra Foothills, California (750ml
A Monthly Wine Club Selection
Why be a prisoner of The Prisoner? This Omen is a good sign…big and chewy, with intense flavors of blackberry, blueberry, bramble and spice; peppered with notes of cedar and oak and firm, gripping tannin. And it’s a bargain to boot!
2019 Nervi "Rosa" Rosato, Coste della Sesia, Piemonte, Italy (750ml)
This lovely still Rosato from Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi is a blend of 90% Nebbiolo and 10% Uva Rara. It was aged in stainless steel for four months on its lees and another month in bottle before release. This is a really distinctive and delicious rosé that shows the delicate side of Nebbiolo with pretty rose and violet aromas on the nose, perfectly pitched subtle red berry and blood orange flavors on the palate and those unmistakable lightly chalky Nebbiolo tannins on the finish that give the wine structure and balance.
2019 Broadley Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon (750ml)
Broadley is located at the southern end of the Willamette Valley, and area that trends warmer than the sub-appellations further north. As a result their Pinots tend to have a bit darker berry and cherry fruit, and a rounder texture on the palate. Great value!
2019 Der Pollerhof Gruner Veltliner, Weinviertal, Austria (1L)
While Gruner Veltliners in liter bottles aren't exactly a new thing, this 2019 entry from Weingut Der Pollerhof has us excited. It feels like a step above in overall complexity from the usual bottle capped versions (not that there's anything at all wrong with those wines) showing a bit more minerality and seamless balance.
2019 Domaine Michel Sarrazin et Fils Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France (750ml)
The Côte Chalonnaise at the southern end of Burgundy's more famous Côte d'Or is one if the places we go to search for elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay without quite the price premium of further north. Sarrazin delivers!
2019 Elio Grasso Langhe Nebbiolo 'Gavarini,' Piedmont, Italy (750ml)
The Elio Grasso Estate, located in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, has 42 hectares of land of which 24 are forests and meadows that surround the 18 hectares of vineyards, within the World Heritage site. The 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo Gavarini sees fruit sourced from the youngest vines in the prized Rüncot site.
2019 Etienne Daulny Sancerre, Loire Valley, France (750ml)
This has been our go-to Sancerre for several vintages now because we just can't find one that is a better wine for the price. Fermented in stainless steel, it has the typical fresh, bright, zesty character his Sancerres always have.
2019 Giornata Fiano, Paso Robles, California (750ml)
From the winery: Clean and stony, our Fiano lends itself to a simple stainless-steel fermentation and maturation in the cellar. The 2019 was sourced from a single vineyard in northwest Paso Robles that produce intensely flavorful fruit with plenty of lively acidity.
2019 Hourglass Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, California (750ml)
The Hourglass estate Napa Valley is more well known for its excellent Cabernet Sauvignon blends but they also make great Sauvignon Blanc as well. Five contrasting vineyard sources between Yountville in the south and Calistoga in the north, plus three distinct fermentation vessels provide a breadth of nuanced lots here that create layers of complexity once blending is complete.
2019 Jolie Laide Gamay, Barsotti Vineyard, El Dorado County, California (750ml)
Scott Schultz is among a still small but increasing number of producers in California that are treating Gamay with the respect it deserves.
2019 Kukeri Chardonnay, Lakeville Vineyard, Sonoma Coast, California (750ml)
If you are a fan of Rombauer and other rich, buttery style Chardonnays, this wine has your name on it!
2019 Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Macon-Village, Burgundy, France (750ml)
The fruit for this Macon-Village comes from two plots around the villages of Uchizy and Chardonnay that don’t go into the single vineyard bottlings. The vines are planted in clay and chalk soils that have an average age of 25 years and are situated at an elevation between 650-900 feet above sea level.
2019 Los Bermejos Listan Negro Carbonica, Lanzarote, Spain (750ml)
It turns out that carbonic maceration, a wine-making technique more typically associated with the Beaujolais region of France, can produce delicious results with Listan Negro from the ruggedly volcanic Canary Islands of Spain.
2019 Massican "Gemina" White Blend, California (750ml)
Gemina is a unique white wine blend, combining grapes that you would not normally see presented together. Greco, the descendant of the ancient Roman grape Aminea Gemina, is traditionally grown in Italy’s southern region while Pinot Bianco is traditionally grown in the north of Italy. These two varieties rarely meet in a blend in the “old country”. Here in California, our Greco is grown in Sonoma County and our Pinot Bianco in Napa Valley, making the meeting of these two varietals even more unique.
2019 Robert Biale PARTY LINE Zinfandel, North Coast, CA (750ml)
This Zinfandel comes from old vine vineyards scattered throughout the North Coast. Bright fruit on the nose leads into juicy darker berry on the palate with dusty tannin. Great for barbecue and on its own!
2019 Scribe Rose of Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, California (750ml)
We were excited to see this delicious rosé from Scribe being released so early in the year. And because of that we were able to get our hands on more of it before it was sold out. Wild strawberry and juicy pink grapefruit make up the fresh fruit flavors on the palate while very bright acidity on the salinity tinged finish makes for a totally delicious, thirst quenching wine that should be part of everyone's rosé selection this year.
2019 Scribe Sylvaner, Sonoma, California (750ml)
A rare example of California Sylvaner, a variety that is better known in the Franken region of Germany and in Alsace, France. Zippy and refreshing.
2019 Tessier Cheverny Rouge "Le Point du Jour," Loire Valley, France (750ml)
70% Pinot/30% Gamay. On the southern banks of the Loire River in the appellation of Cheverny, Philippe Tessier farms 23 hectares of vines utilizing organic principles. Perhaps more importantly, however, Philippe strives to make honest wines that respect the natural balance of his vines and the local ecosystem of the Loire Valley.
2019 Turnbull Sauvignon Blanc, Oakville, Napa Valley, California (750ml)
This 2018 Turnbull Sauvignon Blanc is a very aromatic expression of the varietal thanks to the influence of the Musque clone. Meyer lemon is the citrus flavor that stands out the most followed by more lime driven notes and a lovely spicy floral character. The wine is medium bodied with good concentration and a zesty, bright finish of perfectly tuned fresh acidity.
