Producer notes ~ "43% ABV / 86 Proof 64% Corn 15% Rye 21% Malted Barley We begin by fermenting a traditional sour mash of corn and rye at colder temperatures, but without the aid of refrigeration. Fermentation takes more time this way, but results in a softer whiskey and develops subtle flavors such as vanilla, pear, and raspberry. We then distill the mash in our small batch copper potstill on grain to extract fuller and rounder flavors from the corn and rye. Finally, we barrel the distillate at the Pre-Prohibition standard of 98 proof, so that the barrel may add subtle notes of oak and vanilla and does not overpower the finished whiskey."

Arette Reposado is distilled from 100% Blue Agave. It is aged for approximately 6 months in American white oak. Translating from their Spanish only web site, here are the highlights: Arette's distillery is in the heart of Jalisco, and is one of the oldest in the region. It is run today by brothers Jaime y Eduardo Orendain, descendents of multiple generations of Tequila distillers. The name honors Arete, the horse that General Humberto Mariles Cortés rode to a Gold in the Team Jumping event at the 1948 Summer Olympics games in London. ~ Peter Granoff

It’s a creamy and mouthwatering whiskey full of rye bread and baking spice flavors, with a sweet nose of maple and light vanilla. Aged in new, heavy char American oak barrels. What is a ‘single malt rye whiskey’ and why don’t you see more of them? It’s a very difficult whiskey to make. The term ‘single malt’ means that it is a whiskey made from a single malted grain from a single distillery.

Producer notes ~ "Barrell Bourbon Batch 031 is a blend of 6, 7, 10, 15 and 16-year-old barrels. The blend was built around the sweetness in a group of 99% corn bourbon barrels and a group of wheated bourbon barrels. To bridge these two groupings, we layered in 15 and 16-year-old barrels for their gentle nuttiness and oak. Finally, a selection of 10-year-old barrels was added to bring notes of milk chocolate and tropical fruit. 2,371 bottles produced, 55.6% ABV"

Producer notes ~ "Like a warm spring hike through Golden Gate Park, Norcal Nancy is perfumed with verdant aromas of eucalyptus, sage, and California laurel. This free spirit sings with gin, vodka, tequila, and whiskey. Try it as an earthy addition in salad dressings, soups and chimichurri. She's delectable in a classic Martini. INGREDIENTS: alcohol, eucalyptus, bay laurel, sage, spices. 50% alcohol by volume."

From a firm established in 1836 by Edmond Briottet, this wonderful liqueur is made with bananas from Costa Rica which are hand-peeled to expose their pulp. They are then macerated in neutral alcohol derived from sugar beets to release the ripe banana flavor. A great ingredient in a variety of cocktail recipes, as suggested by Briottet here: Try the “After Sex” cocktail: 3 cl of vodka, 2 cl of Briottet Banana liqueur, orange juice, 0.5 cl of Briottet Poppy Liqueur and a pinch of sugar. Put the ingredients into a glass filled with ice cubes and top it up with orange juice. 25% ABV.

It is produced by mezcalero Juan Morales Garcia in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca. This mezcal has a delicate nose of citrus and floral notes with peanuts and jicama.. On the palate there is citrus peels, fruit, chamomile, mineral notes, and light honey.

Hand harvested single estate grapes, gently pressed a single time, naturally fermented into wine, Copper Pot distilled once to proof by varietal, rested & blended according to family tradition. Capurro Pisco is made 100% of grapes, undiluted, unfiltered, and with no additives of any kind at any step of the production process. On the nose, roses and orange blossom. The palate offers roses, orange blossom, cardamom, red apple skin and golden current.

The signature Bourbon bearing the name of Rev. Elijah Craig, a Bourbon pioneer who is credited with being the first distiller to age his whiskey in charred oak barrels. Mashbill: 78% Corn, 12% Malted Barley, and 10% Rye. Vanilla, caramel, nut, and oak pop out from the start. Sweet and light at first, these flavors slightly intensify with time in the glass.

Intensely bitter since its inception in 1845, Fernet-Branca has been produced according to the original recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation. The bitters are made from 27 herbs and other ingredients. Producer notes ~ "Kamiki, meaning God’s Breath in Japanese, was born at the Omiwa Shrine at the foot of Mount Niwa in Japan. Here, alcohol created by the local spirit producers is served as a blessing. Kamiki was created to further this tradition by taking a range of some of the finest whiskies from Japan and blending them with the best whiskies from overseas before maturing in a range of peculiar wood types. The results are smooth, intricate and intriguing expressions that differ from the norm and deliver a truly unique tasting experience. This new expression was finished in Japanese Cedar wood, just like the two before it, before being transferred to casks made from the famous Sakura tree for further finishing.  The Sakura tree is hugely famous in Japan. It symbolises the beginning of Spring and is intrinsically connected to “mono no aware”, a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence, or in other words – mortality."

Producer notes ~ "This exquisite Kavalan whisky has won several prestigious awards, including a gold at the World Whiskies Awards. The expression also received a Gold in its category at the International Spirits Challenge. Kavalan ex-Bourbon Oak dilutes Solist ex-Bourbon with Kavalan spring water to 46% strength. It is incredibly smooth with a soft sweetness, losing the harshness and the alcohol edge and lingering over those unique flavors. It is clean and fresh tropical fruitiness with pleasant vanilla, coconut and spices."
