2022 Scribe Pinot Noir, Carneros, Sonoma County, California (750ml)

It's no secret we are big fans of the wines from Scribe. Brothers, Adam and Andrew Mariani are not only doing a great thing by resurrecting the old, pre-Prohibition historic Dresel wine estate in Sonoma County into a modern-day wine property with re-vitalized organically farmed vineyards and a new winery.

They are also making a lot of great wines! While they don't produce anything in significant quantities, we are proud to sell as many bottles as we can of whatever bottlings we are lucky to procure. However, this 2017 Pinot Noir has been a big hit so don't wait too long before it's all gone. Here is how the brothers view this delicious wine, "just as the estate vines were taking root, we first made Pinot Noir on the flats of our Carneros farm in 2007, composed of equal parts of two California heritage clones ideal for the region’s dense clay: Martini and Pommard. The Martini grapes add spice and fresh, high tones complemented by the Pommard’s natural earthiness. Vinification methods are the same as our Estate Pinot--fermented with native, wild yeast in concrete or steel then aged in neutral oak barrels for about six months; but, compared to its counterpart, the Carneros Pinot ends up expressing a softer, more delicate touch and feel."
