2022 Clos Cibonne Tentations Rose, Cotes de Provence, France (750ml)

This Rosé is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 15% Syrah and 15% Tibouren. Never heard of Tibouren? It is an indigenous varietal to Provence and one that family patriarch, Andre Roux, believed in so strongly, he replaced all his Mourvèdre vines with it.

Clos Cibonne produces a dramatic and complex 100% Tibouren Rosé which they hold back a year for additional aging - that we also proudly carry. This 'Tentations' is more in the flavor of a traditional Provencal rosé with bright fruit, zesty acidity and great balance - perfect to enjoy on a hot summer day, or really any day of the year! Clos Cibonne isn't your typical producer of Provençal pink wine. They have a family heritage that dates back to 1797 when the Roux family purchased the vineyard estate after the death of its original owner, Jean-Baptiste de Cibon, who was a captain in King Louis XV's Royal navy. Successive Roux generations have run the estate ever since and taken care to protect the 15 hectare property that overlooks the harbor of Toulon between Marseille and Nice at the Mediterranean Sea. In the 1930's, Andre Roux was so passionate about the local Tibouren varietal that he got special permission from the A.O.C. to list the grape on his labels. And thanks to his meticulous farming, Clos Cibonne was one of 18 other vineyard sites in Provence to be awarded the designation of Cru Classé.
