BLIND TASTING! w/ Stephanie Spencer

Date: Sunday, April 10th
Time: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

What is Blind Tasting? An individual's perception of products, including wine, is influenced by who made it, the origin of the product, the packaging as well as many other factors. Blind Tasting is a skill employed by wine professionals to assess the qualities of a wine without any information that might sway their perception.
Why would I want to learn how to blind taste? Generally the more you know about something, the more enjoyment you derive from it. Wine is no different and blind tasting is a great way to learn more about what you have in your glass. Understanding what characteristics you like guides you toward to finding wines you really love. The skills acquired by tasting blind will allow you to hone in on what makes a wine delicious. Do you like Barberas from Italy because they remind you of raspberries? Do you taste Coca Cola in Sonoma Coast Pinot?

Learn to evaluate wine based on your senses to help you find new regions and appreciate the classics.

EVERYONE has this ability and with practice can cultivate a more sensitive palate that allows a greater appreciation of wine and winemaking.

At Mission Bay Wine and Cheese we believe that the more you know about wine, the more you will enjoy it.

We welcome everyone to this series of Blind Tastings and the events are best suited to those new to blind tasting and those with intermediate experience.   Classes will be led by Stephanie Spencer, Wine Buyer and Bar Manager, Mission Bay Wine & Cheese.
