About the Icons
This wine, in our view, has always been a bit of a sleeper (meaning overlooked) in the context of vintage Port. Especially now, with 20 years of bottle age, it is stunning and delicious in its developed complexity. It still has cellar life ahead, too, if that is your inclination.

Producer Notes ~ "The Quinta do Vesuvio from 2001 has a very dark ruby red color. The small yields of the Touriga Nacional ensured a large concentration of the wine, while the Touriga Franca, thanks to the good weather during the harvest, achieved perfect maturation and created wines of great elegance. The Tinta Barroca was very ripe at the time of picking, with a higher than average baumé, and produced wines with excellent structure and good age. Tinta Roriz's old planting had lower than normal yields in 2001, resulting in wines with a typical concentration of berry fruit aromas."
