The 8th generation is now at the helm if this fine Vouvray producer. This particular bottling "Les Tois Argiles", shows more layered complexity, length and minerality on the finish than Pinon's regular Sec. We are often tempted to describe fine Loire Valley Chenin Blanc as "honey and lemon squeezed over wet rock", and this beauty merits the description.
Chenin Blanc is rarely as good anywhere else in the world. Organically-farmed, wild yeast ferment, a short sojourn in neutral cask and vat on the lees before bottling. Delicious now, and cellar-worthy for another 5-7 years as well.
