2017-C Domaine La Bouissiere Gigondas, Rhone Valley, France (750ml)

A Red Cellar Trio Wine Club Selection
This 2015 Gigondas is 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah which was aged 35% in stainless steel and 65% in large oak foudres between two and five years old. It shows vigor, depth of fruit and impeccable balance making for a very classy Gigondas! Cellar-worthy for 5-8 years.

Antonin Faravel started his wine career at the young age of 14 working at Domaine Pierre Amadieu and was the head vineyard manager by the time he turned 30. He developed his own vineyard on land he inherited from his father and planted his first vines at the foot of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range in Gigondas in 1956. He initially sold his fruit to Domaine Amadieu and then in 1978 he started making his own wine under the Domaine La Bussiere label. He sadly passed away in 1988 and his wife and children took over running the business. His son, Thierry makes the wines now and is producing some of the best blends in the southern Rhone Valley from the family's plots in Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes-de-Venise.
