Producer Notes ~ "Our namesake red wine blend is back with another remarkable vintage! The 2020 Cuvee le Bec is a blend of 51% Syrah, 38% Grenache, 6% Mourvedre, and 5% Counoise, with stunning and dense aromas of ripe red and black fruits, spices, and floral notes. The mouth is filled with more dark fruits and spices which brighten on the back end as the Grenache and Counoise express themselves on the lifted finish. Another very special vintage of the Cuvee le Bec, as balanced and delicious as ever! Drink this now and over the next 12 years."
This is one of our go-to reds for daily consumption, and could be thought of as a California alternative to French reds from the southern Rhone valley. It over-delivers in character at the price, with a mouthful of dark plummy fruit, moderate tannins and touch of earth. Beckman is also farming biodynamically, giving them a legitimate claim to responsible stewardship in the Santa Ynez Valley. ~ Peter Granoff, Master Sommelier
