This is a delicious wine from the area of Lake Lugana in Lombardy, Italy and a major staff favorite. Every time we put it on wine bar menu we almost run out -- partly due perhaps to the staff enjoying it after shift -- and partly because it's just so darn good it's hard to resist.

It is 100% Verdicchio and has such character for a grape that typically makes for more simple, neutral wines without much flavor. In the hands of Franco and Ambra Tiroboschi, they are able to coax lovely green apple and lime citrus flavors out of their Verdicchio grapes and let the purity of the fruit and the minerality show without any oak influence. It has a medium body and a light creamy texture in the middle and it finishes with a nice crisp acidity. ~ Peter Granoff, Master Sommelier
