N.V. Lini 910 Labrusca Rosso, Emilia-Romagna, Italy (750ml)

About the Icons
Labrusca is the ancient Roman name for the family of Lambrusco grape varieties, believed by many to be among the earliest grapes used to produce wine. This particular bottling is a blend of 85% Salamino and 15% Ancellotta, both sub-varieties of the large Lambrusco family. It is a very dry, refreshing sparkling red that begs for a platter of charcuterie or similar. If you were in Emilia-Romagna where it is grown and where they also make amazing cheese and salumi, that is likely what would appear on the table first!

Lini 910 was founded by Oreste Lini in 1910 in Correggio, Emilia-Romagna and is run today by the fourth generation Lini family. Fabio Lini is the winemaker and his daughter, Alicia, (Oreste’s great-grand daughter) does all the sales and marketing travelling to international markets. The Lini family owns 25 hectares of vineyards and has another 25 under contract.  With over 100 years of experience, Lini has a proven track record of producing high quality dry Lambrusco which they make in the typical Charmat method as well as Metodo Classico (or Champagne method/secondary fermentation in the bottle) and even release a Millesimato (or vintage.)
