The wines for this flight are from vineyards planted and tended over the last six generations by the Henschke family. Two of the featured wines are sourced from vineyards that are 70 and 106 years old.The Henschke family has been making wine since Johann Henschke planted his first vineyard in the Barossa’s Eden Valley in the early 1860s, at first, wines were made for family and friends with the first commercial release of a Henschke wine in 1868. 

Fourth-generation Cyril Henschke pioneered single-varietal and single-vineyard wines in the 1950s, with his greatest legacy being the creation of Mount Edelstone and Hill of Grace, shiraz wines from the Eden Valley that have become an integral part of Australia’s fine wine history. Today, fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and his viticulturist wife Prue are recognized around the world for their exceptional quality wines, innovation, and sustainability in the vineyard. The Henschke family continue to craft their wines with a strong sense of place, enriched by their use of organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard, and complemented by traditional red winemaking and careful oak maturation. The sixth generation, are all actively involved in continuing the family winemaking tradition; mindful of their role as custodians of the Henschke vineyards and the need to nurture them for future generations. Each generation has added to the Henschke philosophy of making high quality handcrafted wines.
