Pride Mountain Vineyards sits high atop Napa Valley's Spring Mountain, at the crest of the Mayacamas Mountains, on the Napa-Sonoma county line. They are at the site of the historic Summit Ranch, where wine grapes have been grown since 1885. The location of Pride Mountain is like no other. At 2100’ elevation, the vineyards sit above the fog layer. The folks at Pride Mountain maintain that due to their distinct high-elevation vineyard location with warm-mornings and cool-afternoons, their wines develop textural and flavor characteristics that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. They expect their wines to be distinct not only from other wines made on different continents but from the same varietals here in California and from vineyards only miles away. 

Their primary farming objective is to take a long-term perspective. They do everything they can to keep not only the vines but the entire mountaintop ecosystem as healthy as possible for as long as possible. Pride Mountain started with Cabernet Sauvignon and has been producing age worthy, world class wines 25 vintages on. The Merlot was quickly a fan favorite – and continues to be - along with the Cabernet Franc, while the Chardonnay is a prime example of a striking, high elevation white wine.
