About the Icons
This 2020 Pinot Blanc Vieilles Vignes is actually a blend of 65% Pinot Auxerrois, 20% Pinot Blanc and 15% Pinot Gris. Pinot Auxerrois is a sibling of Chardonnay grown extensively in Alsace, where it is often blended together with Pinot Blanc. In fact, under AOC Alsace rules, 100% Pinot Auxerrois wines can be labeled as Pinot Blanc.

Winemaker and master blender, Félix Meyer has a knack for producing pure and expressive wines that exhibit a keen modernity all while making them in the traditional Alsatian manner. This involves extended lees aging in older, mostly neutral foudres, or large oak casks. The nose is a mix of stone fruit continuing and filing out the medium-bodied palate. Texturally, the wine feels lush yet still light on its feet with a lingering finish.
